Humphry Repton 1752 - 1818

Humphry Repton was the last in a line of great eighteenth century landscape designers and he worked on hundreds of estates across England. During 2018, the 200th anniversary of his death, there were many exhibitions, lectures and study days across the country to celebrate his life and achievements.

Here in Sussex we organised a Study Day at Brightling Park in June (jointly with Kent Gardens Trust). Also, over the past year, SGT volunteers have researched the many sites in Sussex associated with him. The Trust is proud to announce the publication the fruits of their labours in 'Humphry Repton In Sussex’, a collection of research papers.   The publication includes 144 A4 pages and 22 articles illustrated with numerous historic and contempoary maps, plans and images, together with endnotes giving details of sources. There whole document is imaginitavely designed and beatifully printed.
